First Salsa Class?
Never danced before? Nervous about coming to a dance class for the first time? Worried about coming on your own?
Don't worry..
We want to make your introduction to salsa dancing as enjoyable as possible. Relax and come along to one of our beginners classes. We try our best to make the classes fun, easy and friendly as we gently ease you into the basics of salsa dancing.
The emphasis will always be on enjoying the dancing, helping each other and learning at your own pace. You are not expected to do everything perfectly. In fact, the more you relax, and enjoy yourself, the easier you will learn - and the more fun you will have.
Although you may feel at times like you have two left feet, hang on in there and it WILL come together! Focus on your achievements (however small they may feel to you) rather than on the things you can't yet do. Don't expect to learn absolutely everything we teach in each class - focus on a few things and leave the rest for another time. It's not a race - take things at your own pace.
Salsa dancing is a skill which can be learnt, like riding a bicycle or swimming. It takes practice at first but once you've learnt, it seems easy and you never forget it.
We encourage all our students to talk to us if they have any questions, difficulties, etc. Please feel free to speak to us at any Salsa class, or to call or e-mail us at stirlingsalsa@yahoo.co.uk.
Guys, don't worry, we get lots of men coming to the classes - you won't be the only one! In fact men who can dance are very popular with the ladies!
Don’t have a partner? Don’t worry. Lots of people come on their own.
We wish you much fun Salsa dancing and hope that you have great time at your first Salsa class! To find out more please take a look at our learning about salsa, Frequently asked questions and Salsacise pages for more information.
